Technical Manager

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Quality Manager to join our team. As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of quality assurance (QA) in our crop production and overseeing health and safety compliance. Working Hours:
- Days: 5-6 (variable to suit the needs of the business)
- Start Time: 06:00 (variable to suit the needs of the business)
- Finish Time: 16:00 (variable to suit the needs of the business)
- Lunch Break: 30-minute paid break
- Hours per Week: 50-60 hours (variable to suit the needs of the business)
As the Technical Manager, you will oversee all aspects of Technical QA in crop production. This includes ensuring food safety, quality assurance, raw materials management, and adherence to finished product specifications. You will also play a key role in maintaining and exceeding accreditations such as BRC, 'Field to Fork,' Red Tractor Assured, LEAF, and Nurture. Additionally, you will be responsible for health and safety management, working alongside our advisors, Citation, to meet and surpass HSE requirements. This includes staff training, review, maintenance, and compliance with risk assessments and method statements.
Performance Objectives:
- Ensure the company complies with and exceeds all industry standards and government legislation related to food safety and health & safety.
- Maintain complete traceability for all raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.

The successful candidate should possess the following qualities:
- Good communication skills, logical thinking, and organizational abilities.
- Experience with process, quality, hygiene, and teamwork.
- Ability to use initiative with previous quality or technical management experience within a fresh produce or food manufacturing environment.
- Take final responsibility for all aspects of compliance.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Incoming/Outgoing traceability: Daily monitoring using Apunga/BG Sales CRM System.
- H&S Management and Audits: Daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and audits using Walkaround/ATLAS.
- Incoming/Outgoing Loading Bay Support: Daily assistance as required.
- Attendance at QC/HS Management meetings: Weekly or monthly participation.
- Management and follow-up of all audits, including corrective actions and reporting: Monthly, quarterly, and annually.
