Senior Procurement Manager

We're looking for a talented Senior Procurement Manager to work for our client.

They want to recruit someone with a demonstrable background in procuring technical ingredients such as vitamins, whey, protein, minerals and other functional powder ingredients.

The Role:

The Senior Procurement Manager role is home-based. Reporting to the CEO, you will be primarily accountable for managing the relationship between the business and its current suppliers, strengthening the continuity of the company’s supply chains by developing options within the company’s purchasing processes, and forecasting the company’s future supply needs alongside the company’s Planning Manager. Reporting to the CEO and Commercial Director, you'll help shape and expand the already established supply chain.

In the job, you'll be tasked with the following:

  • Negotiating with suppliers ensuring the business gains commercial incentives as the business grows
  • Managing the overall capacity plan for ingredients and packaging suppliers
  • Leading strategic tenders of crucial supply chain dependencies
  • Working cross-functionally and building solid relationships with other teams in the business

The Candidate:

The ideal person for this Senior Procurement Manager role will have relevant background in procuring technical ingredients such as vitamins, whey, protein, minerals and other functional powder ingredients.

You'll also need a background in procuring these ingredients internationally from countries such as Spain, Germany, Austria and Denmark.

In addition, you'll need the following:

  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent functional knowledge (5+ years in professional procurement roles): depth of different aspects of procurement such as sourcing, category management, processes and tools in rapidly evolving environments, with the food & beverage industry but preferably within dairy or pharmaceutical
  • Excellent problem-solving and analysis
  • Solid background in strategic sourcing, vendor and contract management
  • Experience working with short-shelf-life ingredients

The ideal person for the role will be the following:

  • Able to travel internationally as and when required
  • A go-getter, methodical with a can-do attitude
  • Self-sufficient and able to work on your own initiative

Package:

Basic salary:  £40,000 - £65,000 (negotiable) per annum, resting on experience

Bonus:  A personal bonus is also available if you hit your targets - full details of the scheme will be revealed on the application
