Our client is a rapidly growing company disrupting its space with its award-winning brand.

To support their continued growth, we are seeking a National Account Director to Manage the top four supermarkets, with Tesco being the primary account.

As National Account Director, you will lead the UK & IRL retail sales strategy and further drive considerable top-line growth while protecting and improving profitability. To achieve meaningful market share growth, we are looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior National Account Manager ready to take that step into this vital role.

What you will do:

  • Direct accountability for the largest grocery accounts while overseeing the entirety of the UK&I portfolio and responsible for the complete P&L
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior managers at leading grocery retailers. 
  • Manage budgets across the entire UK & IRL retail footprint. 
  • Manage a National Account Manager and distribute resources among the 20+ existing UK and Ireland retailers. 
  • Drive growth by adding distribution points and launching NPD within current retail accounts. 
  • Win new accounts. 
  • Lead commercial pricing and contract negotiations to protect/improve margin with retail accounts.
  • Produce and present monthly sales reports to the Senior Management team.
  • Create and deliver ambitious yet realistic forecasts to feed into Production Planning and Finance models.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal Marketing, Product Development, Production Planning, and Finance teams.

You'll require the following:

  • Experience managing budgets across multiple accounts, forecasting, and planning
  • 5+ years of account management experience with UK&I grocery retailers, with a food/drink brand
  • Experience in start-up and scale-up environments with experience in consumer, food, drink.
  • Track record of working with and delivering organic and inorganic growth in top grocery accounts
  • Commercial mindset and aptitude for creating and driving a holistic strategy to deliver sustainable growth and profit
  • Strong, highly accurate math abilities
  • Contract negotiation and pricing knowledge
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain profitable connections;
  • You should have hands-on experience working with ERP systems, retailer onboarding, and order procedures.
  • 2+ years of direct management experience 
  • Effective communicator with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise, and memorable manner
  • Strong project management abilities and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Entrepreneurial in nature and the ability to use own initiative. 
  • Thriving in a fast-paced, growing business. 
  • Strong people skills; exhibits empathy, sets an example and helps to build a desirable team.

What we offer:

£65,000 to £75,000 basic salary

Full remote working

28 days holiday (incl. bank holidays) with additional holidays granted each year for the first 5 years, a pension scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, Life Assurance at 2 x basic salary, and a company sick pay scheme.
