I am honoured to exclusively lead the search for WhitworthBros Ltd.’s next Managing Director. With the current MD retiring at the end ofthe year, this family-owned business is seeking a new leader to continue itslong-standing legacy. Whitworth Bros has established itself as a world-classmiller, utilising advanced technology to produce high-quality flours whilekeeping food safety and brand protection at the forefront of their operations. TheTimes has recognised their success, being listed in the Top Track 250 formid-market growth for five consecutive years.

The new MD will maintain and enhance this already thrivingbusiness. They will be part of a family business that values ethical and legalstandards, innovation, consistency, and partnership. Whitworth Bros sourceswheat from local suppliers whenever possible and has a skilled and dedicatedworkforce. The Senior Leadership Team is competent and led by the Chairman andManaging Director, who has an open-door policy.

The successful candidate must have a strong personality,attention to detail, and dynamic leadership skills. They can modernise thebusiness while working closely with the existing workforce. There is a quick-decisionstrategic culture in place, which means no red tape and provides an excitingopportunity for the new MD to take this already successful family business toits next level of growth.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for all operationaland commercial aspects, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations anddriving business performance. This role will also involve strategic counsel,practical assistance to the Board and Senior Leadership Teams, andcollaboration with other Managing Directors within the Whitworth Holdings Groupto ensure best practices are shared and implemented.

Responsibilities:

·     Oversee the company's performance and developcost-effective business strategies.

·     Represent the company and exemplify the visionand values of Whitworth Bros Ltd.

·     Constantly assess business performance, guidethe Board, and swiftly adapt to business changes.

·     Assume a leading role in supporting significantcustomers and managing major accounts.

·     Collaborate closely with the Group Health andSafety Manager on health and safety matters.

·     Take on Whitworth Bros Ltd.’s representation onthe UK Flour Millers Committee.

Qualifications:

·     Substantial experience in senior leadershiproles within manufacturing, ideally with board-level involvement.

·     We seek an experienced Managing Director from acomparable SME business.

·     An MD with commodity trading experience would bebeneficial but not essential.

·     Demonstrable interpersonal skills with theability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.

·     Results-oriented with a proven record ofsurpassing targets.

·     Competent IT skills.

·     Degree-level education is desirable.

·     A full UK Driving license is required.

The successful candidate must be flexible, prepared totravel to all sites, and available outside regular working hours due to our24/7 operations.
