We're looking for a talented Head Of Sustainability to work for our client.

They want to recruit someone with a demonstrable background in ensuring that the group maintains compliance with all environmental, energy and sustainability and statutory legislation.

The Role:

As the Head Of Sustainability, you'll report to the Managing Director. You will be primarily accountable for working closely with other senior business stakeholders to influence decision-making and lead behavioural change in areas such as environment, energy and sustainability, including mills, farming estates and offices.

In the job, you'll be tasked with the following:

  • Exploring and developing the use of renewable energy such as solar, biomass, heat pumps and waste energy, capitalising on green energy incentives
  • Working with external partners, ukfm and customers to maximise sustainability, mitigate co2 emissions, and gain energy efficiencies throughout the entirety of the supply chain
  • Develop sustainability targets and take ownership of ensuring key milestones are achieved, reporting regularly updating on progress to colleagues and the senior team
  • Raising awareness of the importance of sustainability and environmental matters and influencing decision-making to ensure long-term sustainability targets are achieved

The Candidate:

The ideal person for this Head Of Sustainability role will have relevant background in ensuring that the group maintains compliance with all environmental, energy and sustainability and statutory legislation.

You'll also need a background in developing and implementing a sustainable strategy, encompassing impact on the working and general environment, energy strategy, and sustainable sourcing of raw materials to the most effective commercial advantage.

In addition, you'll need the following:

  • Significant background in designing and implementing a sustainability strategy
  • Proven background in policy writing and influencing behavioural change in a complex organisation with multiple stakeholder groups
  • -Good knowledge of current and future UK and EU environmental, energy and sustainability legislation
  • The ability to influence and challenge decision-making at all levels across the business
  • An education to a degree level within a science or environmental-based background
  • IEMA accreditation

You'll also need to be sound communication skills, both verbal and written and be approachable and personable with a customer focussed approach.

The Package:

Basic salary:  £65,000 - £75,000 per annum

Bonus:  A bonus is also available if the company hits certain targets - full details of the scheme will be revealed on the application
