‍The Role:

‍In the Procurement Manager role, you'll report to the Group Procurement Director and will be primarily accountable for purchasing products/materials and service needs, ensuring quality products are obtained at competitive prices in a timely fashion. You will play an integral role in ensuring the company stays within budget and operates profitably.

Specific tasks include:

• Ensuring all materials are conforming to the business specifications, procedures and policies, facilitating efficient order fulfilment for internal/external customers to enable the business to achieve its goals
• Performing all procurement activities including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts and tender management
• Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results
• Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business

You'll spend part of the working week based in the company's Worcestershire office, and the rest of it working from home. Details around how this will work will be revealed on the application.

‍The Candidate:

‍To be the right person for the Procurement Manager role you will need a direct background in purchasing goods and services at the most competitive prices whilst maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity. We also need you to have prior a background in maximising space utilisation at the site in line with established stock limits.

It's also essential that you've got a background in food manufacturing specifically poultry or other meat proteins.

It's important that you also have the following:

• Good negotiating skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
• Experience in stock management systems such as SAP, rubicon and Excel
• The excellent analytical and numerical capability
• Previous background in budget control and cost reduction programmes
• Good appreciation of packaging films, trays, cardboard

You'll also need to be the following:

• Able to travel both nationally and internationally
• Able to stay away from home on occasion
• Able to work on the odd weekend depending on business needs (highly unlikely)

‍An excellent salary is on offer for this Procurement Manager position, and an annual bonus is also available if the company hits its targets.Details for both the basic salary and company bonus scheme will be revealed on the application.
