Kendamil, owned by Kendal Nutricare, is a UK-based company specializing in the production of organic baby milk and formulas. With over 60 years of experience in baby formula, Kendamil is committed to high-quality products and environmental sustainability. They source their milk from family farms and grass-fed cows, avoiding palm oil and using sustainably farmed marine algae for DHA. The company emphasizes traceability and sustainability throughout its supply chain.

Kendamil has been recognized for its excellence with several awards, including The Grocer's New Product Award in 2021, the Gold prize from Made for Mums in 2021, and the Queens Award for Enterprise in International Trade 2020. 2. Objectives:

Kendal Nutricare, owner of the Kendamil brand, approached us to find a dynamic individual for the Head of Global Procurement position.

As the Senior Procurement Manager for Kendal Nutricare, you will play a vital role in our organisation. Your responsibilities will include managing relationships and negotiating commercial terms with over 40 existing suppliers, focusing on key accounts.

Your expertise will strengthen the continuity of our supply chain by introducing flexibility in our procurement process and accurately forecasting our supply chain requirements in collaboration with our planning manager.

Working alongside other senior members of the team, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that Kendal Nutricare adapts and expands its supply chain sustainably.

3. Strategy and Implementation:

It was unquestionably necessary to employ a targeted headhunting approach to secure the ideal candidate for this crucial position.

We mapped the market across Europe, identifying competitors and then focussing on their employees who would be suitable for this crucial role. 

Once identified, we approached each one in order of suitability with a personalised approach through marketing materials, video outreach and focused social media tracking.

4. Challenges and Solutions:

Although the Head of Global Procurement could be anywhere across Europe, the baby formula market only had five notable manufacturers.

We identified the procurement teams we then head hunted in our approach of these manufacturers. 

5. Results: 

Thanks to our dedicated efforts, we have secured an exceptional candidate who not only possesses extensive experience in baby formula supply Chain and Procurement operations but also has a demonstrable background in working for one of the largest blue chip manufacturers in the world.
